64 Macon Street

Today we will be visiting 64 Macon Street, a beautiful brownstone located in Bedford-Stuyvesant, just northeast of Prospect Park. This majestic building contains six units currently available for rent, ranging from a simple studio to a huge four-bedroom family unit— with something for just about every need.

With the interior sculpted by the building’s original classic shape, every layout is a great combination of the building’s historic beauty and the elegance and practicality of modern design. These design considerations allow it to maintain a strong connection with nature, making it truly special within the urban environment.

With trees dotting the property and beautifully open window designs which let in lots of natural light, it is a wonderful haven within the bustling neighborhood.

While many buildings with this kind of atmosphere can struggle with access to the rest of the city, 64 Macon Street is quite the opposite. Located on a block adjacent to Nostrand Avenue and only a couple blocks from Atlantic Avenue, there is a quick connection not only to the subway (servicing the A and C trains), but also directly to the Long Island Railroad.

If you’re ever in the mood to rent a bike, you can always visit one of the two Citi Bike locations on either side of the block. The area also has several restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, markets and delis, so you’ll never run out of food options. Need to buy some stamps? You can head over to the post office in just a brief walk. Urgent care, pharmacies and barber shops are all a short walk away.

The building also has another perk: you’ll never have to bring your clothes to a laundromat—there are in-building laundry facilities, and in some of the rentals, in-unit machines. Each unit contains all stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, gas stove/oven, refrigerator and over-the-range microwave. Now that you’ve gotten to know the building, let’s see some units!

The Cozy Loft (unit #5)

This cozy yet spacious apartment is a great example of taking advantage of the tall, spacious ceilings this building offers. Right off the bat you’ll notice the sleek design of the lofted section which takes up minimal space in the living area below it. This is an incredible way to use the vertical real estate of the room without sacrificing the design of the space or the accessibility of the area below. Featuring two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, this unit efficiently packs a lot into the area yet remains spacious and open.
